You guys thought we were lying when we said our song “The Sun and Earth” was going to be on HBO, but we weren’t. SEE?! It’s right here on YouTube!
First of all, we’d like to thank Paul Newman for being in this.
Secondly, we’d like to thank Ed Harris for hugging that girl and inspiring this song in the first place.
HUZZAH!

Dear Everyone,

You’ve heard by now that our furry and beloved bass player, Ian Glinka, has decided to leave the band. Now, there’s been talk of legal battles and the like, but we’ve dug up ONE legally binding contract Ian will wish he’d never signed:
http://www.middledistancerunner.com/Pictures/MDR_Quitting_Contract.JPG
Jokes aside, Ian has been a huge part of the band throughout the years and without him we couldn’t have done nearly as much as we have. When he joined the band in 2006, he brought enthusiasm and energy that has given us the confidence to do what we’ve been able to do. His efforts to get our music to as many people as possible have been entirely responsible for our past successes, and have given us a model to follow in the future.
Besides being a good bandmate, Ian is one fifth of the tightest group of friends in Washington, DC. We all love him and wish him the best.
So if you see Ian around, hurry up and buy him a drink. He’s only here for about another week, and he sure as hell isn’t getting any more checks from Middle Distance Runner, LLC.
Fondly,
Middle Distance Runner, LLC
PS - Hey Ian, POOP4! See you at the “I Quit” match!

It’s been a while since we last talked, but that’s not because we’re lazy or angry with you. It’s because we’re recording! A lot! Boyoyoing!
HBO Signature to Use “The Sun and Earth” in Promos!
Starting last night, and running throughout the week, HBO Signature will be featuring our song “The Sun and Earth” in promotional commercials for some of their original films. How about THEM apples?! Check your local listing.
“Momma”

In acknowledgement of Mother’s Day, we’ve recorded an apocryphal ditty of ours called “Momma”. See, it was hidden on our debut album, Plane in Flames, but you had to be very clever to find it…
With the help of some of our most attractive friends, we’ve recorded a MUCH better version. It’s got EVERYTHING! Trumpets! Choirs! Banjos! Even hip hops! Click the following link to stream it, or right-click & Save As to download it for free!

Welcome to our new website!!!
After furiously toiling away for months on our new EP, we’re finally ready to launch our beautiful new website, designed by MDR’s very own guitarist/rennaissance man Allan Chappelear. The new design is a taste of what the EP artwork will look like, and we’ll be streaming the new material from the site leading up to the big EP release show at the Black Cat on October 20.
Soon we’ll post our tour schedule for October, which will take us up and down the East coast leading up to the big EP release show!
That’s all for now. Stay cool,
[exeunt MDR.]
