Middle Distance Runner :: The Sun & Earth :: October 20th

CMJ Recap, Black Cat, Radio Show, BRUUUCE!!

CMJ Recap

Whoa boy.  We just got back from a whirlwind week in the windy city of lights, New York, for the CMJ Music Marathon.  Our bones are weary, our clothes are smelly, our bellies are belly, and we’ve never been happier!  We played 4 shows the first two nights and spent the rest of the time livin’ large, son!  We saw David Cross walking his dog and Nigel Barker walking some lady!  Free massages, free booze, free shoes, free hair pomade . . . REAL RICH GUY STUFF!

Black Cat, November 14 w/Spinto Band
In other, equally exciting news, we’re playing another DC show!  November 14, at the Black Cat, we’re playing with Spinto Band.  You can get presale tickets here, which we highly recommend, as our last local show sold out in an hour!  Oooh big shot rock band!

FREE Radio Show on 89.7 WTMD
The day immediately following our Black Cat show, we’ve got a free gig in Maryland for Baltimore Unsigned, a show on WTMD.  It’s going to be an intimate affair, probably acoustical, so be sure to grow back your beards quickly after the all-ages love fest at the Black Cat.  Reserve your free tickets here, immediately, and without regret.

World Hunger Year Benefit CD
Lastly, but absolutely not leastly, we’re honored to say that we’ve been selected by Hard Rock International for their annual World Hunger Year benefit CD.  It’s called SERVE3, and it includes exclusive tracks by artists including Bruce Springsteen, Joss Stone, My Morning Jacket, and . . . Middle Distance Runner.
Yup.  Us and The Boss on a charity compilation together.  Honestly, we have no idea what we did so right, but it’s a high honor, to say the least.  Read Paste’s synopsis here.

Well, kiddos, that about does it for now.  Be sure to grab up some tix for the Black Cat show November 14, and remember, VOTE SMART!

xoxo,
MDR
